Topic: We will be working on THREE choreographies: Oriental, Nawari, Dabke, as well as Syrian style veil/megence and Syrian style drum solo. All full package participants will have opportunity to perform at our annual HAFI intensive gala show in November 2017!!

Celebrity choreographer Samer Fares will be in Boston on Monday Nights September 11, 2017!! He will be sharing an introduction to Modern Syrian/Lebanese Belly Dance (oriental) and Dabke! You will also learn fun combinations on how to incorporate Dabke steps into your full dance routines for clubs. You want to learn Egyptian? Study with an Egyptian. You want to learn Levantine style (Lebanon, Syria, Palestine) study with a Levantine trainer!!!

MOST Arabic clubs/haflis are run and owned by Levantine American Immigrants. The clients expect to see a polished and well trained Levantine style performance. HAFI sponsors events with both Egyptian artists and artists from the Levant. To be an overall well rounded performer it is imperative that one understands who their clients are and are able to adapt their shows accordingly.

Come learn the secrets and nuances of the Syria/Lebanon ~ Europe of the Middle East! Ustez Samer has choreographed for countless Lebanese music videos for celebrity singers. "A master dancer and performer from Syria, Samer Alfares has over 18 years of dance experience which includes expert training in Middle Eastern Oriental and Folkloric styles, ballet, modern, and jazz. He was part of both Enana Dance Theater and Caracalla Dance Company, where he performed, choreographed, and designed productions around the world. He has travelled the globe teaching workshops and performing in India, Russia, South Korea, China, France, and throughout the Middle East. He is known for his distinguishing skill of incorporating theatrical elements into traditional dance styles, resulting in beautiful and entertaining performances that capture the imagination. He is a passionate instructor who inspires his students to take their dance to the next level, and his knowledge of music theory, regional styles, cultural background, and stage presentation is reflected in his teaching and enthusiasm for dance".
