Pensacola Opera - Carmen

“But if I love you...watch out!” Since her premiere in 1875, Carmen has triumphed over natural disasters, world wars, plagues, and pestilence. And she’s just starting to warm up for her appearance on the Saenger stage in January 2021. Featuring company favorite Elise Quagliata (As One, Sweeney Todd, Madama Butterfly, Little Women, Carmen) as Carmen, along with tenor Adam Diegel (Il trovatore, The 3 FooFoo Tenors) and baritone Luis Alejandro Orozco (Florencia in the Amazon), Pensacola Opera’s production is inspired by the realities of performing during the time of a global pandemic. Featuring the costumes of Glenn Avery Breed (UWF, Wardrobe Witchery), and Lighting Designer Barry Steele (Il trovatore, Florencia in the Amazon, Carmen), stage director Fenlon Lamb’s interpretation of Bizet’s classic sizzles with the heat of opera’s ultimate seductress.

Due to social-distancing measures, limited seating is available for our mainstage shows this season. In-person performance tickets are only available for this event by calling the Pensacola Opera office at 850.433.6737.
