Ópera de San Miguel is proud to announce that several past Concurso winners, finalists and invitados especiales have won the Metropolitan Opera National Council Mexico District auditions held virtually yesterday, December 17, 2020, and will go on to the Gulf Coast Regional Auditions next February 28, 2021. They are:
Jacinta Barbachano (OSM 2018 2nd prize Concurso winner)
Jennifer Mariel (OSM 2020 3rd prize Concurso winner)
Alejandro Luévanos (OSM 2020 finalist)
Luisa Mordel (OSM 2020 finalist)
They will join three other Mexican singers selected for the next stage of the audition process: Jorge Espino, Sofía Garza (OSM 2020 Invitada Especial), and Valeria Vásquez.
Also, congratulations to OSM 2020 Invitados Especiales Fernanda Allande, Sofía Garza and Alberto Robert, as well as Pompeyo Lugo (OSM New Voice of Mexico), for receiving MONCA Encouragement Awards, together with Efraín Corralejo (OSM 2020 Finalist) and Ana Paula Malagón.
