Ελληνικά ορθόδοξα κάλαντα στον Καναδά Δέκα χιλιάδες χιλιόμετρα (10.000 χλμ) μακριά από την Ελλάδα, στον αχανή και παγωμένο Καναδά, ζεστές και χαρούμενες οι καρδιές των μαθητών του ημερήσιου ελληνορθόδοξου σχολείου της Ι.Μ. Τορόντο, «Μεταμόρφωση». Ήρθαν σήμερα τα παιδιά και με τις χαρούμενες φωνές τους σκόρπισαν την ειρήνη και τη χαρά του Χριστού στο μητροπολιτικό μέγαρο. Τους δέχθηκε με πολλή αγάπη ο Μητροπολίτης Σωτήριος. Κατά αγαθή συγκυρία παρών ήταν και ο γενικός πρόξενος της Ελλάδας στο Τορόντο κ. Α. Ιωαννίδης. Οι αγνές ελληνικές ορθόδοξες ψυχές των παιδιών ευχήθηκαν στον Μητροπολίτη και τον γενικό πρόξενο να έχουν χαρούμενα Χριστούγεννα και ευτυχισμένο και ειρηνικό τον καινούργιο χρόνο. Ο Σεβασμιώτατος και ο γενικός πρόξενος ανταπέδωσαν τις ευχές καμαρώνοντας τα παιδιά με την ελληνορθόδοξη ψυχή και καρδιά. Συγχαίρουμε τη ημερήσιο ελληνορθόδοξο σχολείο μας και ευχόμαστε τα κάλαντα των παιδιών να κάνουν χαρούμενες τις ψυχές όλων που θα τα ακούσουν.

Greek Orthodox Carols in Canada

Ten thousand kilometers away from Greece, in the vast and cold land of Canada, the hearts of the students from the Metamorphosis Greek Orthodox School were warm and joyful. The children came today, and with their joyful voices spread the peace and joy of Christ to our Holy Metropolis. Metropolitan Sotirios received them with great love. By a fortunate coincidence, the Consul General of Greece in Toronto, Mr. A. Ioannidis, was also present during this event.

The pure Greek Orthodox souls of these children wished the Metropolitan and the Consul General a very Merry Christmas and a happy and peaceful New Year. His Eminence and the Consul General, full of pride at witnessing children with such a Greek Orthodox heart and soul, reciprocated the greetings. We congratulate our Greek Orthodox day school and wish that the carols of these children will bring happiness to the souls of all who listen to them.
