 17th GINA BACHAUER FESTIVAL - Meetings of Young Soloists and Ensembles

With great pleasure, we invite you to the 17th GINA BACHAUER FESTIVAL-Meetings of Young Soloists and Ensembles, which this year for the first time takes place in the historic and beautiful Gythio, the capital of the Municipality of East Mani, and is organized by the Gina Bachauer International Music Association in cooperation with the Cultural Association of Gythio Mixed Choir "Irene". This year's Festival is held under the auspices of the Municipality of Antoliki Mani.

Founder and Artistic Director of the Gina Bachauer Festival is Konstantinos P. Karambella-Gourdas. General coordinator is Marianna Fourli.

The concerts will be held at the Cultural Center of Eastern Mani, on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 July 2025, at 9.00 p.m. μ.

Participating young soloists and ensembles: Nefeli Andreakou, cello, Marios Vourliotakis, piano, Giorgos Darmis, piano, Eirini Darmi, composition-direction, Sotiris Louizos, piano, Theodora Magina, composition-piano, Maria Psoma, cello, the Mixed Choir of the Musical Cultural Association "Eirini" and the Choir of the KDAP of the Municipality of Eastern Mani.

The Gina Bachauer International Music Society was founded in 1979 and has set as its main objectives to keep alive by every possible means the memory of the unforgettable piano virtuoso Gina Bachauer (1913-1976). It is one of the most active European cultural bodies.

Gina Bachauer's musical and social vision continues. Supports and showcases young talented soloists, holds concerts of selected young musicians from Greece and abroad in various cities in our country and abroad, while organizing the Maria Chairogiorgou-Cigara Music Competition and the C.V. Alkan-P.J.G. Zimmerman International Piano Competition. Every summer, the Gina Bachauer Festival takes place. The last and foremost annual event of the Gina Bachauer International Music Association, held in cooperation with the Association for the Upgrade of the Historic and Shopping Center of Athens, is the Gina BachauER-Nikolaou Doumba Awards Ceremony, which are awarded to personalities and entities for their exceptional contribution to Society, the Environment and the Culture. The event ends with the Concert of Distinguished Young Soloists.

During his career, the International Music Society Gina Bachauer has collaborated with great personalities in the classical music scene, such as Wolfgang Sawallisch, Zubin Mehta, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Murray Perahia and Alicia de Larrocha, as well as with well-known orchestras (Philharmonia Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic etc. .. ).
