Summer Nostos Festival 2019 • Yale Alumni Chorus

Eκατοντάδες χορωδοί και μουσικοί θα κατακλύσουν τη σκηνή της Αίθουσας Σταύρος Νιάρχος στην πλέον πολυπληθή παραγωγή του Summer Nostos Festival για το 2019. Το κοινό θα βιώσει μια μουσική εμπειρία ανεπανάληπτης ενέργειας και έντασης. Το πρόγραμμα εστιάζει σε έργα Brahms και Θεοφανίδη με πρωταγωνιστές 125 χορωδούς από το πανεπιστήμιο Yale, μουσικούς του El Sistema Greece και τη συμφωνική ορχήστρα Academica Athens Orchestra.

H Yale Alumni Chorus θεωρείται «Πρεσβευτής του Τραγουδιού» και έχει στόχο να χτίσει διεθνείς σχέσεις κατανόησης με όχημα τη γλώσσα της μουσικής. Έχει εμφανιστεί στις σημαντικότερες σκηνές του κόσμου, από τις ΗΠΑ ως τη Ρωσία (ήταν η πρώτη αμερικανική χορωδία που τραγούδησε μέσα στο Κρεμλίνο). Το El Sistema Greece προσφέρει δωρεάν μαθήματα μουσικής σε παιδιά και νέους - ανεξαρτήτως καταγωγής, εθνικότητας, γλώσσας και θρησκείας - τα οποία χάρη στη μουσική αποκτούν εφόδια για ένα καλύτερο μέλλον. Η Academica Athens Orchestra στελεχώνεται από καταξιωμένους μουσικούς με θητεία στις μεγαλύτερες ορχήστρες της Αθήνας. Έχει συμπράξει με μεγάλα ονόματα της ελληνικής και διεθνούς σκηνής, όπως η Evelyn Glannie και η Fanny Ardant.

Το Summer Nostos Festival 2019 διοργανώνεται και υλοποιείται με την αποκλειστική δωρεά του Ιδρύματος Σταύρος Νιάρχος, σε συνεργασία με το Κεντρο Πολιτισμου Ιδρυμα Σταυρος Νιαρχος.

Hundreds of choristers and musicians will flood the stage of the Stavros Niarchos Hall in the most populous production of the 2019 Summer Nostos Festival. The audience will enjoy a musical experience of unprecedented energy and intensity. The program focuses on works by Brahms and Theofanidis and features 125 choristers from Yale University, musicians from El Sistema Greece, and the Academica Athens Orchestra.

As “Ambassadors of Song,” the Yale Alumni Chorus strives to build international understanding through the universal language of music. The group has appeared on major stages around the world, from the U.S. to Russia—it was the first American choir to sing in the Kremlin. El Sistema Greece offers free music lessons to children and young people regardless of their origin, nationality, language, or religion, thus providing them with the chance at a better future. The Academica Athens Orchestra consists of renowned musicians who have played in some of the greatest Athenian orchestras. It has collaborated with great names of the Greek and international stage, including Evelyn Glennie and Fanny Ardant.

The Summer Nostos Festival 2019 is organized and takes place thanks to an exclusive grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, in collaboration with the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center.
