The Neutral mask invites us to look, to listen, to smell and to feel the world as it was for the first time. It reveals to us the power that is hidden in the absolute present, the here and now! It's the mask that allows us to take out all the rest of our “masks”.
Lecoq, as the inspirator of the Neutral Mask, said that: “it's the mask that helps us feel the neutral condition, that goes before action, a situation of acceptance of everything that surrounds us, without any inner conflict.”
It's an experience-based seminar focused on motion, aiming on exploring the multiple different layers of the “body”. Basic creative principles: the embodiment, the artistic individualization and the unique nature of the person. We will work on “dreamlike” images, corporal impulses, inner sceneries and archetypal dynamics. We will develop our creative intuition, our playful mood and we will acquire deeper body awareness. We will use the power of the mask to dive into the corporal memory that is liberated from the confinements of our mind. Moreover, during this procedure of exploring the different layers in our Poetic Body, we will use the the tools of Guiding Drawing with carbon on white paper and the exercises of energetic imagination.
The combination, the assimilation and the experience-based application of all of those we have been taught by the pedagogical paths of LISPA (London International School of Performing Arts) and especially our Master there led us to the creation of this journey of discovering the “poetics” of our body through the Neutral Mask.
Gozde ATALAY KOKKORIS is a physical theater facilitator,director and actress born in Turkey and based in Athens. She’s been performing since 2000 and graduated from the department of Theater Criticism and Dramaturgy of Istanbul University in 2004. As a clown, she first trained in 2009 at EMCA (Municipality Circus School) in Spain, also engaging actively with other circus techniques and in 2011-2012 she taught in the social circus school for children “Cabuwazi” in Berlin.As a physical theater performer, she studied with Hernan Gene and Gabriel Chame Buendia at “Chame and Gene Estudios Teatrales" in Madrid and with Thomas Prattki at London International School of Performing Arts, where she completed the new full-time professional development program (IMPP 2014-2015) with a scholarship.She’s also trained with Mario Gonzalez, Giovanni Fusetti, Matej Matejka and Patrick Van Den Boom. She’s performed in Berlin Ballhaus Ost 2018 & London Camden`s People Theatre in the performance ''No Way Out'' with the company Flight of Escales, 2017 Santander Mujeres Que Cuentan Festival "Queens", in the 3rd Storytelling Festival of Athens 2016 " Upside Down'' Nasreddin Hodja Tales, in the International Theater Athens & Epidaurus Festival 2014 “A Quiet Voice”, in Berlin ZirCouplet-Variete Shows 2012 & 2013, on a street performance for the Berlin International Carnival of Cultures Festival 2012 and a number of other performances. She is currently working with the company La Volada on a new show. Since 2006, she has been living and working in several countries, where she is performing, directing and teaching in various international projects.
Panagiotis KOKKORIS is a physical theater facilitator,clown,director and storyteller born in Greece and based now in Athens. His main studies about physical theater, especially neutral mask and clown were with Hernan Gene and Gabriel Chame Buendia at “CHAME and GENE ESTUDIOS TEATRALES in Madrid as well as with Thomas Prattki at LISPA program in Berlin. He has completed the new full-time professional development program (IMPP) of “London International School of Performing Arts” in Berlin. His first meeting with the clown world was in 2008 when he attended a clown workshop with Francis Albiero (Artistic director of Compagnie Flex)from France and since then the clown journey became his passion. He attended several long and short-term workshops with various teachers, such as Mario Gonzalez, (teacher of Conservatoire National Superieur D’Art Dramatique in Paris), Giovanni Fusetti, ( founder of Helicos International Theater School in Italy), Patrick Van Den Boom, (teacher of De Goudse Clown School from Netherlands),Marcello Magni( Complicite,England). His first meeting with the circus world was on 2009 at EMCA (Municipality Circus School) in Spain. Then he started to deal actively with the circus techniques (especially clowning, juggling and equilibristics) and in 2011-2012 he taught in the social circus school for children “Cabuwazi” in Berlin. As a performer he participated in the Pelion Storytelling festival 2015,2016 and 2018, in the 2nd Pocket Festival of Athens 2017 with the play " Upside Down'' Nasreddin Hodja Tales, in the 3rd and 4th Storytelling Festival of Athens 2016-2017, in the International Athens & Epidaurus Festival 2014 in the play “A Quiet Voice”, in Berlin ZirCouplet-Variete Shows 2012 & 2013 , in the Berlin Carnival of Cultures Festival 2012 , in Friedrichstadt Palast`Berlin illuminated`` show 2011 , and a number of other performances,festivals and variete show.Since 2007, he has been living and working in several countires, where he is performing,directing and teaching in various international projects.
