Panayoti Karousos anointed Count Caruso by the UNESCO of Kefalonia & Ithaka

The Greek-Canadian composer Panayiotis Karousos took the anointing Count Caruso of Kefalonia. The award was given in Peratata Kefalonia at The UNESCO Home of Kefalonia & Ithaca by the President of the Club UNESCO of Cephalonia & Ithaca. Following a survey by UNESCO Panagiotis Karousos comes from the noble family of Count Dimitrios Caruso from the Royal House of Naples. The Count Demetrios led the army under the Venetian domination and fought in Crete. According to the Libro d'Oro of Kefalonia, the Doge of Venice, anointed Demetrious as a guardian of the island of Cephalonia where he married and died. The son of Count Caruso Christopher Caruso took all titles and prices by the Doge of the Venetian Republic for the Caruso family. Panagiotis Karousos has excelled in the U.S. and Canada in the field of classical music and opera. The operas Prometheus, Alexander the Great and Olympic Flame gave him the recognition as a new composer of opera. From the family of Count Caruso was the great Neapolitan tenor Enrico Caruso.
The award of the "Count" given to Panayoti Caruso honors all Kefalonians.
