KAFKA'S "REPORT TO AN ACADEMY"

A provocative short story, adapted by acclaimed German director Gabriele Jakobi, starring renowned U.S. actor Robert McNamara, marks the 100th anniversary of Kafka’s death with a thought-provoking exploration of transformation and identity.

Imagine the reverse of Kafka’s “Metamorphosis.” The story follows an ape named Red Peter, captured in West Africa and forced to mimic human behavior as a means of survival. He recounts his harrowing transformation to a scientific academy. This dark, compelling drama challenges audiences to reflect on free will, animal rights, and the ethics of vegetarianism.

Following its sold-out debut at the 2014 Capital Fringe Festival and successful runs in Prague and Berlin, this international performance is a must-see theatrical event in Athens.
