LAGFF WELCOMES ERT

LAGFF Gold Patron Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation, ERT, was founded in 1938 and is the largest radio and television broadcasting organization in Greece.  As the country's first broadcaster, it has an unrivaled audio and visual historic archive which captures much of the history of modern Greece.  ERT has three broadcasting television stations with national coverage (ET1, NET and ET3), one satellite channel (ERT world), four terrestrial digital channels (Cine+, Prisma+, Sport+ and Info+), six radio programs with headquarters in Athens (NET, Second Program, Third Program, FILIA, KOSMOS, ERA Sport), two international radio stations based in Thessaloniki (95.8 and 102 FM), and 19 regional radio stations throughout Greece.  ERT has been an ardent supporter of LAGFF since 2008.

CONSUL GENERAL OF GREECE HOSTS MESSENIA-NIGHT PARTY ORPHEUS/MITSIGAN, Sunday, June 9, 5:00pm, WGA, Beverly Hills | TICKETS  The Closing Night screening will be preceded by a pre-reception and the Orpheus Awards at 5:00 PM. Following this event, across town...   Consul General of Greece Elisabeth Fotiadou has been lending her unique vision and hospitality to LAGFF since she took office in Los Angeles in 2010. Honoring the 'birthplace' of many recent international and local films, such as Kimon Tsakiris' MITSIGAN - HARDSHIPS & BEAUTIES, the Consul General will host a Messenia-themed party at her private residence on Sunday evening. Messenia-style, rare delicacies from this beautiful region will complete the LAGFF experience:  Pork garnished with orange peel, chicken tenders with Messenian noodles, rustic-style lamb with artichokes and potatoes, a meatless monastic recipe served with pearl onions, chestnuts, mushrooms in spiced vinegar and olive oil, octopus with arugula, marinated tilapia in oregano, olive oil, lemon, and collard greens - and more. Costa Navarino Luxury Resort, the party's presenter, will also offer LAGFF patrons the opportunity to sample Messenian local, high quality products such as olives, extra virgin olive oil, eggplant and tomato dips, roasted red peppers and mini green peppers. AMERICAN HELLENIC COUNCIL PRESENTS 'ONE STEP AHEAD'  ONE STEP AHEAD, Sunday, June 9, 1:00 pm, WGA, Beverly Hills | TICKETS  We welcome American Hellenic Council's support for the second time since 2010.  The two organizations have often joined forces in the promotion of cultural affairs. This year AHC will present Dimitris Athiridis' documentary, ONE STEP AHEAD, about Thessaloniki's maverick mayor, Yiannis Boutaris.
