Music historian and music critic Joseph Raiskin will give a talk about the "Petersburg text" of Shostakovich: the composer was born in St. Petersburg, spent his adolescence and youth in Petrograd, his mature creative work is closely connected with Leningrad.

Russian and foreign musicologists will gather at Dom Radio to discuss issues related to Shostakovich's Fourth Symphony: which composers and compositions engage in a dialogue with it, what the symphony presented for its time, what researchers know about the history of the symphony's creation. Round table participants: Lyudmila Kovnatskaya, Larisa Miller, Joseph Raiskin, Konstantin Uchitel, Gerard McBurney (online), and Pauline Fairclough (online).
