Opéra Queens Podcast 1.5: Corinne DeJong, mezzo!


 Opéra Queens is excited to continue our NEW podcast! Our 1st season features queer and/or IBPOC performers and creators of our 2021 Drama Queens & Latin Night productions.

Our 5th episode features Dutch-Canadian mezzo-soprano Corinne DeJong! Join us LIVE on Zoom Mon, Feb 21 (Family Day 💖) at 4 PM Canada Eastern Time!
Corinne will be in conversation with Artistic Director Mike Fan! Corinne will discuss her queer identity intersecting with opera and their jump-in Opéra Queens role this year as Cilèa’s venomous Principessa de Bouillon in “Adriana Lecouvreur” for Drama Queens!

BIO:
Corinne DeJong is a Mezzo Soprano from Burlington, Ontario. A recent graduate of the Master’s program at the Manhattan School of Music, previous credits include; The Judgement of Paris (Juno), Suor Angelica (Suor Osmina), Rusalka (Knyaginya), Gianni Schicchi (Zita), L’enfant et les sortilèges (Maman), Cunning Little Vixen (Huntsman’s Wife/Owl), Dido and Aeneas (Sorceress/Dido), Les contes d’Hoffmann (Giulietta), The Bat (Rosalinde), as well as chorus in Suor Angelica, Emmeline (Picker),Tosca, La bohème, La traviata, and Pagliacci.
Ms. DeJong has also sung many recital programs and as a soloist with St. Jude’s Anglican of Oakville, The Reformed Church Bronxville, The Port Nelson Choir and the Ambassadors Male Chorus. Future engagements include La Serva Padrona (Uberto) with flip-flopera and Onegin (Nurse & Olga) with Opéra Queens. Ms. DeJong can be engaged through the Ex Animo Studio.
