Music Salon: Scriabin

To continue Pushkin House’s celebration of Alexander Scriabin’s 150th birthday, we are proud to present a concert of his works performed by Galina Umanskaya.

Alexander Nikolayevich Scriabin’s fame is coupled with his enigmatic charm. Scriabin's ceaselessly innovative approach can be seen in his melodies, harmonies, textures and orchestrations, as well as in the originality of his ideas. These were closely connected to Romantic aesthetics and Russian Symbolist poetics.
His bright trajectory was cut tragically short when he died aged 43. The concert will present Scriabin’s piano oeuvres from throughout his short musical career. These works showcase the ambiguity of his style and ideas, and his musical evolution over time.
The programme includes selected piano works and an interactive presentation illustrating the composer's creative path.
