The Club for UNESCO in Genoa together with its many local, national and international representatives requests institutional support for the city of Genoa and the most important international cities-linked to the circuit for UNESCO of our institutions-interested in being part of the project ′′ A bench for rights ′′ - sharing the launch of a rich and ambitious program to raise awareness on women's rights issues through art and the wonderful creations of our Club artists for UNESCO of Genoa and International Action Art ITALY with the support of UNESCO Club Piraeus and the Greek islands.
Ha finally starting the path to install the thematic benches symbol of the fight for rights. Club president for UNESCO of Genoa, Prof. Massimo Ruggero, together with the great artist Pietra Barrasso ′′ Master of Light ′′ they are delighted to officialize some institutional steps and start together the paths of installing the art benches in the affected cities.
The topic of women's rights is now more topical than ever, as it is even more brought to the spotlight of the international community by yet another unacceptable shameful violation of human rights perpetrated by Taliban in Afghanistan as well as in most countries, not only so-called Sudmondists, who go on to the news because they certainly don't shine in the ISU, the Human Development Index proposed for over 30 years now by the UNDP, in which respect for human rights remains the essential condition to get out of cultural, identity and obscurantism of the kind that unfortunately most of the realities and local international communities are in.
Inhumane inviolations to the detriment of civil society and women in particular have pushed the UNESCO Club of Genoa, which has always been engaged in the fight against female empowerment and double maternal and child social disparity, to take a clear and concrete position of cultural policy who places the Club for the UNESCO of Genoa as an important international leader in the fight against inhuman obscurantism, barbarism and incivility perpetrated against the female gender. And not only that.
Problems commonly associated with the notion of female rights include, but not limited to them, the right to integrity and bodily autonomy, to be free from fear of sexual violence (more generally violence against women), to vote and hold public offices, enter into legal contracts, have equal rights in family law, to work and obtain a fair or equal pay for men, to have reproductive rights, to own property and finally to have access to education.
