The elite group of buildings and urban planning projects selected by the jury of this year's International Architecture Awards will be premiered at Contemporary Space Athens and the exhibition "The City and the World" is scheduled to travel in Europe through 2019.
About the Awards: The International Architecture Awards are the only non-commercial, global, and public awards program given jointly by two not-for-profit Museums in the United States (The Chicago Athenaeum International Museum) and Europe (The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies) dedicated to public education concerning architecture and industrial design.
The Awards are regarded internationally as a mark of excellence, recognizing the best global architecture practices, as well as the corporate clients, developers, state and local governments, institutions, general contractors that produced them.
This year’s selected buildings are from 31 nations including: Australia, Austria, Canada, China, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, México, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Republic of Singapore, Sri Lanka, Russia, Spain, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and The United States.

Τα εγκαίνια της έκθεσης με τίτλο “The City and the World” θα πραγματοποιηθούν την Παρασκευή 28 Σεπτεμβρίου, στις 17:00 στο Contemporary Space Athens, Μητροπόλεως 74, στη Πλάκα με ελεύθερη είσοδο. Στην έκθεση αυτή θα παρουσιαστούν τα έργα των βραβευμένων αρχιτεκτονικών γραφείων με φωτογραφικό υλικό και videos.
Οι διοργανωτές, το Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design με έδρα την Γκαλένα στο Ιλινόις της Αμερικής και το European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies με έδρα το Δουβλίνο και την Αθήνα, πιστοί στο ετήσιο ραντεβού με την παγκόσμια αρχιτεκτονική κοινότητα δίνουν και φέτος το στίγμα του προγράμματος.
380 έργα από 31 χώρες αναδεικνύουν τις νέες τάσεις στον σχεδιασμό και την κατασκευή κτιρίων και λοιπών κτιστών υποδομών. Η επιλογή των νικητών έγινε από ομάδα Τούρκων αρχιτεκτόνων και πολιτικών μηχανικών με εξέχουσα επαγγελματική παρουσία στον χώρο.
