SpaceX Crew-4 will be the fourth crewed operational NASA Commercial Crew flight of a Crew Dragon spacecraft, and the seventh overall crewed orbital flight. The mission is now planned for launch no earlier than April 26, 2022, 4:15 a.m. EDT / 08:15 UTC / 10:15 CEST.
The Crew-4 mission will transport four members of the crew to the International Space Station (ISS). Three NASA astronauts and one ESA astronaut have been assigned to the mission. Crew-4 will use a new Crew Dragon spacecraft.
NASA astronauts Kjell Lindgren and Robert Hines were announced on 12 February 2021 to the crew. Samantha Cristoforetti was named the commander of Expedition 68 on 28 May 2021. Jessica Watkins was named Mission Specialist on 16 November 2021.
NASA astronaut Lindgren will do his 2nd spaceflight, he was a part of the ISS-Expedition Crew 44/45 in 2015, he spend 144 days in space. ESA's Cristoforetti will go on her 2nd spaceflight, she was a crew member of the ISS Expedition crew 42/43 in 2014/15 and spend 199 days in space. NASA astronauts Watkins and Hines will do their first spaceflight.
