In this 4-day workshop, we will explore Bizet’s "The Pearl Fishers" from several vantage points which are crucial to coach and perform the work successfully.
Each day will include an interactive presentation, studio class, and optional one-on-one sign-up coaching that will offer participants the chance to work individually with the faculty.
Goals:
At the end of the TOA Online Opera Workshop, the participants should come away with a clear and rich overview of the work, including its architecture, dramatic pacing, historic context, harmonic and orchestration analysis, the relationship between voices and orchestra.

All group events will be held in English, although additional languages can be offered for the 1-on-1 sessions (French, Romanian, German).
For attendees who are not part of TOA and wish to attend, it is mandatory to write us an email at toa.education@gmail.com by April 8 for the registration details.

George Bizet’s "The Pearl Fishers" transports us to the faraway island of Ceylon, where integrity, loyalty, and passion intertwine between its triangle of main characters: Zurga, the trusted community leader; his best friend, the brave adventurer Nadir; and the mystical priestess, Leïla. Most known for its sublime duet, “Au fond du temple saint”, The Pearl Fishers showcases Bizet’s masterful orchestration, dramatic genius, and sensuality with rapturous music and thrilling vocal writing.
