We are glad to share the programme of Diaghilev +, a special project of the International Diaghilev Festival, which will take place in Perm from December 23 to 25 under the artistic direction of Teodor Currentzis .
DECEMBER, 23

The orchestra conducted by Teodor Currentzis will present a concert performance of two ballets by Igor Stravinsky — The Firebird and Petrushka, which at the turn of the 20th century brought Sergei Diaghilev's Ballets Russes to the foreground of the European musical theatre and became hits of the world concert repertoire.
— Performers of the Belgian theatre company Peeping Tom, who presented the Dyptych: The Missing Door and The Lost Room at the Diaghilev Festival last summer, will give a master class to professional dancers interested in performing at the junction of physical, musical, and drama theatres.
DECEMBER, 24
— Teodor Currentzis will give a public master class on opera conducting. Young conductors and vocalists under his guidance will work on opera arias. The master class will be accompanied by musicAeterna orchestra.
— Parma Voices Choir with a programme comprising masterpieces of Renaissance and Baroque music: motets by Tomás Luis de Victoria, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, and Cristobal de Morales, as well as an oratorio by Marc-Antoine Charpentier In Nativitatem Domini Canticum.
— Chamber concert by pianist Yulianna Avdeeva, one of the most sought-after soloists in the world, who very rarely performs in Russia. She will perform a number of piano compositions that reveal the full variety of timbre and technical capabilities of this instrument: from imitating industrial noises to reproducing almost symphonic sound.
DECEMBER, 25
— Memorial concert dedication to Charles Baudelaire, the ‘cursed poet’, a decadent, a symbolist who had a huge impact on the art of the 19th and 20th centuries. The whole concert consists of world premieres created on request of Teodor Currentzis. The new works range from songs for voice and piano to electronic compositions and large-scale canvases featuring chamber choir, wind instruments, and percussion.
— Diaghilev+ party with alternative music of Russian and European bands will conclude the project.

A special project of the Diaghilev Festival, Diaghilev+ will take place in Perm from December 23 to 25 this year.
The program compiled by the artistic director of the festival, Teodor Currentzis, includes symphony and chamber concerts, master classes and the traditional Diaghilev+ party with alternative music. Diaghilev+ events will take place at several city venues. A detailed program will be posted by the end of the month.
For the first time the special project of the Diaghilev Festival, Diaghilev+, took place in November last year. It was meant to be a sort of a satellite to the main festival and a kind of afterword to the main program. The festival itself takes place in summer.
All Diaghilev+ events will be held in compliance with safety measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection.
Diaghilev+ is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Perm Krai.
