MusicAeterna begins collaboration with contemporary artists. From now on, their works inspired by music, will become the visual basis for our concert brochures.
The first partner of musicAeterna is the famous Saint Petersburg-based young artist Леонид Цхэ (Leonid Tskhe). His sketches made at the rehearsals of the orchestra, will be part of the book for today's concert, which includes the Fourth Symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich and the premiere of Marko Nikodijevic's toccata for orchestra.
Leonid Tskhe:
- Drawing as a performative practice is an important part of my work. Whether it is reaction to an event or meeting a new environment, drawing is always an experiment for me, in which you expect paper to reflect unforeseen results. I have many childhood memories connected with Dom Radio - my dad, orchestra musician, let me join him at the recordings of his orchestra. I am very happy with the opportunity to attend the most interesting musicAeterna rehearsals, to try to find intersections between music, new sensations and memories in a series of drawings.
