The fifth international open-air festival ′′ Tolstoy ′′ will be held in the manor of the writer from June 24 to 27, which will present modern interpretations of works by L.N. Tolstoy.
The anniversary festival program includes works of different formats: from traditional drama to choreography and productions, a specific site. Several projects were created specifically for the festival by leading directors and playwright of Russia.
This year the head of the festival became the great-granddaughter of the writer Catherine Tolstaya. The program director of the festival is a famous theater critic, assistant to the special projects of the MHAT School-Studio Pavel Rudnev.
Theaters from 10 Russian regions will take part in the festival, more than 20 productions will be shown. For the first time festival events will not be limited to Tula region and will be held in different cities of Russia - in Perm, Ufa and Khabarovsk.
Among the special projects of 2021-the works of the leaders of modern theater Dmitry Volkostrelov and Victor Ryzhakov, Elena Nenasheva and famous playwright Yaroslav Pulinovich and Svetlana Bazhenova. Also for the first time there will be a lecture course ′′ Yasnopolyanskaya School ".
The performances will be shown in the space of Leo Tolstoy's manor in the open air: this is both the main stage for eight hundred people, and the small stage located near Tolstoy house, and the scene in the Apple Garden, and the site on the hill, and the vast fields and forests for theater walks.
