World famous eclectic artist. Recognized as one of the best opera singers, Domingo is also conductor and was Honorary Artistic Director of the Arena di Verona Centenary Festival, General Manager of the Los Angeles and Washington Opera. In January 2021, after having conducted La bohème at the Bolshoi and sung Simon Boccanegra at the Mariinsky, he celebrates his 80th birthday singing Nabucco broadcast by ORF and returns to the Bolshoi to sing Don Carlo. His career has continued unabated for over half a century in the main theaters of the world.
This afternoon, at 6 pm, he will be on the podium of the Municipal Theater of Piacenza to conduct the "Messa da Requiem": Verdi's grandiose masterpiece of sacred music. The Maestro will lead the Arturo Toscanini Philharmonic and the Choir of the Municipal Theater of Piacenza prepared by Corrado Casati.
On stage Maria José Siri - The Soprano, the mezzo-soprano Annalisa Stroppa, the tenor Antonio Poli and the bass Michele Pertusi.
