In 2021, the music community celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Arno Babajanyan, one of the brightest composers of the twentieth century, pianist, pedagogue, and people's artist of the USSR.
The Astrakhan Opera and Ballet Theater joined the anniversary events. The concert program ′′ The voice of his heart ", which was run by the honored artist of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania Evgeny Kirillova, demonstrated the full spectrum of talent of the composer - from academic music to the song genre.
The first department opened ′′ Heroic Ballad ′′ for a piano with an orchestra, where the winner of the international competition Hovik Grigoryan was solving. The program also included: ′′ Elegy ", serenade ′′ My heart in the mountains ′′ for a pipe with an orchestra (Stanislav Sevastyanov), ′′ Vocaliz ", ′′ Nocturne ", ′′ Ode to Armenia ".
In the second department of the orchestra and opera soloists performed famous Soviet times hits. ′′ Year of love ", ′′ The best city of the earth ", ′′ Beauty Queen ", ′′ Your footprints ", ′′ Thank you ", ′′ Wedding ", ′′ Don't rush ", ′′ Nocturnus ", ′′ Bring me back the music ′′ etc. - all these incredibly sincere and kind songs, the audience met with special warmth, singing along with the artists.
Babajanyan was awarded the title of ′′ World's Best Composer ", award given to him by Frank Sinatra. The concert involving the symphony orchestra, leading opera soloists and artists of the Astrakhan Opera and Ballet choir, was attended by the soloist of the Perm Opera and Ballets Theater, the winner of international competitions, the diplomant of the Golden Mask Award Harry Agajanyan.
The concert was held with the support of the Foundation ′′ In memory of Arno Babajanyan ". The general producer of the Foundation Armen Sargsyantz presented letters of gratitude to the participants of the concert, as well as the anniversary medal in honor of the centenary of the USSR People's Artist Arno Babajanian to the team of the Symphony Orchestra of Astrakhan Theater and Ballet.
A musical evening that united both major and minor notes, delighted the public with its warmth, beauty, sincerity and melodiousness. The sounding music of Arno Babajanyan allowed both the audience and the participants of the concert to feel good, incredible emotional upliftment and optimism.
Full house in the hall and sold out tickets for a series of concerts confirmed that while music sounds, the composer continues to live.
