To 2022 γιορτάζονται παγκόσμια τα 100 χρόνια από την γέννηση του ελληνικής καταγωγής πρωτοπόρου συνθέτη και στοχαστή Ιάννη Ξενάκη. Το Σάββατο 17 Δεκεμβρίου τιμούμε τον ελληνικής καταγωγής μουσικό με μια συναυλία - μαραθώνιο με έργα που προβάλουν την σκέψη του και τον προβληματισμό του σχετικά με τις επιστήμες και την τεχνολογία και τον ρόλο μυς στην κοινωνία και τις τέχνες. Στην εκδήλωση αυτή που πραγματοποιείται στο Ωδείο Αθηνών από τις 7 μμ μέχρι τις 3:30 πμ της επόμενης ημέρας, συμβάλουν μουσικοί και καλλιτέχνες από δέκα διαφορετικές χώρες (Ελλάδα, Ιταλία, Γερμανία, Τουρκία, Ιαπωνία, Μεξικό, Αγγλία, Ιρλανδία, Γερμανία, Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες). Οι καλλιτέχνες εκτελούν τα έργα εξ αποστάσεως από τις χώρες τους με ταυτόχρονη συμμετοχή άλλων καλλιτεχνών επί τόπου και αλλού, συνδεδεμένοι μέσω διαδικτύου. Η συναυλία αυτή αποτελεί αφιέρωμα στο ερευνητικό όραμα του Iάννη Ξενάκη και τις προσπάθειες που κατέβαλε για να επεκτείνει τα όρια της τεχνολογίας και καλλιτεχνικής δημιουργίας. Αναδεικνύει τις δυνατότητες της τεχνολογίας να υποστηρίξει την διεθνή συνεργασία στην καλλιτεχνική δημιουργία, για να δημιουργήσει έργα που παίζονται ζωντανά σε περισσότερους χώρους συγχρόνως, ανεξαρτήτως της απόστασης, χρησιμοποιώντας νέα πειραματικά μέσα που επιτρέπουν την άμεση επικοινωνία και ανταλλαγή μουσικών δεδομένων. Επιπλέον, με μερικά από τα κεντρικά έργα που παρουσιάζει, η συναυλία αποτελεί αφιέρωμα στο όραμα του Ξενάκη για διεθνή συνεργασία ανάμεσα στους νέους για να ξεπεραστεί η “βιολογική πάλη μεταξύ των γενεών που ξεδιπλώνεται σε όλο τον πλανήτη”, όπως αναφέρει ο ίδιος για το έργο του Kraanerg.

The year 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of the Greek-born pioneer composer and thinker Iannis Xenakis, and is accompanied worldwide by events dedicated to his memory and work. To honour this Greek-born musician, a marathon concert takes place at Athens Conservatory, on Saturday 17 December, presenting works inspired by his musical work and his reflections on science and technology and the role of muscles in society and the arts. This event, which takes place at the Athens Conservatory from 7 pm until 3:30 am the following day, features musicians and artists from ten different countries (Greece, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Japan, Mexico, England, Ireland, Germany, Turkey, United States). The artists perform the works remotely from their countries with simultaneous participation of other artists on site and elsewhere, connected via internet. This concert is a tribute to the research vision of Iannis Xenakis and his efforts to push the boundaries of technology and artistic creation. It highlights the potential of technology to support international collaboration in artistic creation, to create works that are performed live in multiple venues simultaneously regardless of distance, using new experimental media that allow for direct communication and exchange of musical data. In addition, with some of the central works presented, the concert is a tribute to Xenakis' vision of international collaboration among young people to overcome the "biological struggle between generations unfurling all over the planet," as he writes about his monumental composition "Kraanerg", choreographed by Roland Petit.
