Theatrical and musical magic with the opera "Trachinies" at Stadium of Ancient Sikyon

Sunday, August 25, 2019. Sophocles's opera "Trachinies" directed by Irini Konsta and music by Panagiotis Karousos at the crowded Stadium of Ancient Sikyon
in Ancient Sikyon Archaeological Site was presented with great success.
Organized and presented by the "Lysippos" Association of Friends of the Arts & Letters and the School Activities Department of the Department of Secondary Education of Corinthia in collaboration with the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth.
Starring in the opera: the great soprano Irini Konsta where she performed with a huge vocal range Dianira's tragic role, the unique bass Vasilis Asimakopoulos performed the role of Heracles, the dramatic tenor Theodoros Birakos interpreted the role of Eurystheus, the exquisite mezzo Katerina Botoni performed the role of Alkmini, the lyric soprano Mariza Kioseoglou performed the role of Ioli, and pianist Pantelis Legakis had excellent musical direction and accompaniment.
Among with the lyric artists were participated the Theatrical Stage of the Friends of Letters and Arts "Lysippos" under the direction of Panagiotis Megaritis and Lighting by George Terzis.
Starring: Maria Fagra as Pythia, Jenny Barlaoura as Prothieria, Maria Georgiadou as Priestess, George Farmakis as Hyllos, Panagiotis Salonitis as Angelos, Makis Arvanitakis as Lyhas. Athletes; Panagiotis Liveris as Kratinos and Spyros Partalis as Nicomachos also participated in the event for the wrestling race "Pagkratio" (Gymnastics "OLYMPION", CAPE TIM).
The Greek-Canadian composer of the opera Panagiotis Karousos thanked the artists for their wonderful performances, the organizers and the large crowd who attended the opera.

The audience was thrilled by the great voices and theatrical performance of the lyric artists and applauded the performance. At the end of the applause all the singers, musicians, organizers and composers bowed to a prolonged applause that lasted for over twenty minutes. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone, artists and the public.
