THE SONGS OF LIBERTY BY PANAGIOTIS KAROUSOS WITH DIMITRIS KANELLOS

 Dimitris Kanellos is going through an important course in the Greek pentagram with his genuine folk tone and his collaborations with the great composers and lyricists of Greek song. Thanos Mikroutsikos, Manos Loizos, Dimitris Lagios, Fontas Ladis, Mimis Plessas, Miltos Paschalidis, Thymios Papadopoulos, Manolis Androulidakis and recently Stefanos Korkolis with Nikos Moraitis. He was born in Nikaia, Piraeus and started his career from the taverns in Kokkinia and Korydallos where he grew up, but he found himself singing alongside Dimitris Mitropanos, Poly Panou, Eleni Vitali, and Glykeria with whom he accompanied in concerts and nightclubs. He entered the discography in 2010 with the album "Thousand Letters", in 2017 with Heaven Music he sings songs in poetry by Fonta Ladi and music by Manos Loizos and Dimitris Lagiou, and from Minos - EMI released the album "What We Dreamed" in poetry by Alki Alkaiou and in music by Thanos Mikroutsikos, Miltos Paschalidis, Thymios Papadopoulos and Manolis Androulidakis.

It concerns the new compositional work of the renowned Greek-Canadian composer Panagiotis Karousos. The composer of classical music known through his operas (Prometheus bound, Trachiniae - Olympic Flame, Alexander the Great), Oratorio: "The Song of the Nations", the Symphony of Liberty, etc., set to music poems by great Greek and foreign poets. A tribute to the 200 years of poetry (1821-2021) 200 Years of the Greek Revolution that we celebrate this year.
