LIC & Astoria Love Letter

Do you love your neighborhood? Join Five Boro Story Project for "LIC & Astoria Love Letter," an afternoon of storytelling, music, and Queens Love in Socrates Sculpture Park. Meet neighbors, hear true stories about growing up in these neighborhoods from long-time residents, and enjoy performances of music inspired by Astoria and Long Island City. 

Featuring Louie "KR.ONE" Gasparro, Jim Hawkins, Gary Lucero, Yvette Ramirez, and Roxanne Shante.

Share your own stories and more in our open mic, write a love note to your neighborhood, and leave your mark on the Park with art-making activities reflecting the local landscape.

“LIC & Astoria Love Letter” showcases community members sharing their love for Long Island City & Astoria through through true life stories, poetry, music, and art that highlight what makes these neighborhoods special and examine the changes and challenges that residents are facing, in particular gentrification and displacement.
