Soprano Irini Konsta was born and brought up in
Athens where she also studied and received diplomas in violin and classical
singing(from the class of the world famous bass George Pappas) winning a First
Prize and a Golden Medal.
She also attended seminars and master classes in Italy and Germany with
G.Dimitrova, M.Caballe, R.Knoll and A.Christofellis. Her repertory includes
Tosca,Mimi (La Boheme), Desdemona (Otello), Nedda (I Pagliacci),
Fiordiligi(Cosi fan tutte), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Ottavia
(L’incoronazione di Poppea) Clytemnestra (Electra), Io (Prometheus Bound) and
many more.
She has performed in Berlin, London (Royal Academy), Paris, Sofia (National
Opera), New York, Melbourne (Arts Centre), Frankfurt (Alte Oper). She is a
permanent collaborator of various Grrek and international Festivals and she is
often appearing on TV and recording for the National Greek Radio Programme. She
has been honoured with the Maria Callas Award from the UNESCO Foundation.
Irini Konsta holds a degree in ancient Greek language and philosophy from the
National and Capodistrian University of Athens.
Panagiotis Karousos has had an
uninterrupted presence on the international music scene as a composer and
pioneer in contemporary Greek music.
He has distinguished himself in the USA, Canada, Argentina, and European
countries with appearances in concert halls such as Lincoln Center, Place des
Arts, Royal College of Music, Sofia National Opera and Ballet, Amphithéâtre
Richelieu Université Paris-Sorbonne, Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal, Small
Theater of Ancient Epidaurus, Ancient Messina, Veakeio Theater, UN at the
United Nations in Manhattan, etc. He has given hundreds of concerts at
international festivals and major music centers, presenting his operas
"Prometheus Bound", "Trachiniae - Olympic Flame",
"Alexander the Great", and works such as the "Liberty
Symphony", "Piano Concerto", "Montreal Suite", and the
Oratorio: "The Song of the Nations". In 2014, the Athens Symphony
Orchestra performed Symphony No. 4 "of the Earth", while his works
have been presented in the Third Program of ERT (Hellenic Broadcasting
Corporation). He is Director of Opera and Classical Music for the Club for
UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands. As an Independent Researcher and Lecturer, the
composer Panagiotis Karousos has given many pre-concert lectures on ancient
Greek prosody (Analysis of Prosody by the scholar and composer Panagiotis
Karousos).
