We’re sending a spacecraft to explore the Trojan asteroids and you’re invited to experience the launch – virtually! NASA’s Lucy mission is scheduled to launch no earlier than Saturday, Oct. 16, on a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket from Space Launch Complex-41 on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. After launch, Lucy will take six years to travel to the Trojan asteroids, rocky worlds as old as our solar system that share an orbit with Jupiter around the Sun. Join our virtual NASA Social to get a behind-the-scenes look at the mission, learn more about the rocket launching the Lucy spacecraft and more.
While we cannot invite the public onsite for one of our usual NASA Social events, we are excited to present an opportunity for people of all ages from all around the world to participate in.
