MusicAeterna orchestra and choir’s tour - Teodor Currentzis


 The musicAeterna orchestra and choir’s tour is over: 19 days, 7 cities, 12 concerts. It also included residencies in Moscow and Lucerne, with masterclasses, film screenings, and discussions in addition to concerts.

St. Petersburg, 28.09.

Lucerne, 6–8.10.
— The first MusicAeterna residency has made it clear that combining a tour and a festival is a promising model. The intense discussion on content, which emerged thanks to the overlap between concerts, films, and workshops, is not the only reason. It is also because of the increasing emphasis on ecological aspects in the planning of orchestra tours. The dates for the future residencies, including those in Lucerne, have not yet been announced, but they are in the planning stages — Luzerner Zeitung
Vienna, 10–11.10
— Standing ovation is a logical consequence. This evening, among other things, proves: be that (as it was recently in Salzburg) Mozart, Mahler or contemporary composers, Currentzis is extremely versatile stylistically. On the one hand, you will have to say goodbye to a favourite habit of listening. This sometimes refers to the paces in Mahler. Now, musicAeterna returns to St. Petersburg. In two weeks, it will present a new programme: Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem and Yannis Kyriakides’ Ein Schemen.
