Originally from Billings, Montana, Jovanovich is recognized by the world’s leading opera companies for his passionate stage portrayals of leading roles in French, Italian, German, and Slavic opera. The tenor triumphed in his Metropolitan Opera and Glyndebourne Festival Opera debuts as Don José, which he has also sung in Barcelona, Munich, and Washington. His vast repertoire ranges from Norma (Trieste) Cavalleria rusticana (Houston), and Il tabarro (San Francisco) to Jenůfa (Munich), Rusalka (Glyndebourne, CD), Peter Grimes (Naples), and Braunfels’s Die Vögel (Los Angeles, DVD).
