The London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) has announced that China Central Television (CCTV), the national TV station of the People´s Republic of China, will be the Chinese Rights Holding Broadcaster for the Paralympic Games next summer.
CCTV is China’s largest national broadcasting network, with 21 public channels and 19 Pay TV channels in operation. Accessible to more than one billion viewers and with programs reaching 140 countries and regions, CCTV will broadcast a minimum of 5 hours per day during the Paralympic Games. The broadcaster will also provide news coverage of the Games and additional broadcast hours through the national web-based TV broadcaster CNTV (China Network Television).
In 2008 CCTV was the rights holding broadcaster in China for the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games.
