Successful concert of Billy Chrissochos' rock group Porphyra

Billy Chrissochos' rock group Porphyra presentedd a successful concert to Blackthorn 51, Queens' premiere Rock Venue, on Thursday May 16th 2013. This was an one night engagement featuring some of the best local singers which performed Porphyra originals for a live recording. It was a wild party with lots of drink specials!

Porphyra is comprised of Billy Chrissochos on guitars, Mike "Risko" Savvas on guitars and tzoura, Jose A. Navia G. on bass, and Frank Pace on drums.
Featured singers are Chandler Mogel (Outloud), Christos Alexandrou (Melodia band) and Anna Dok (Operatika Element). Also Richard Khuzami- Guest percussionist.

Bios:
Chandler Mogel is one of the hardest working independent singers in hard rock today. He has performed on over 15 albums and sold over 15,000 CDs in just the last few years since moving to New York City. His band Outloud, who is based in Greece, has toured the country multiple times, appeared on national TV there, featured on the cover of a major magazine (Greek Metal Hammer) and voted #4 best Greek band of 2011 in the same publication. Additional Chandler has performed for the likes of Donald Trump, Chevy Chase and others, and has performed on the same bill with international superstars The Eagles, Frankie Valli, Pitbull and Flo Rida.

Christos Alexandrou is a multi-talented performing artist. In addition to singing, Christos has appeared in numerous theatrical productions, in Greece as well as on Broadway. These include Annie, Miserere, Blood Brothers, Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ Superstar. He played the role of Phantom in the promotional campaign of the movie the Phantom of the Opera. He has also participated as a co-host & guest in many TV shows. Christos has performed at the Athens Concert Hall (Megaro Mousikis) on 3 occasions, appearing most notably alongside Maria Farantouri, at “Cine Maria” and recently released his debut recording album in 2012 titled “One Look”. Anna Dok is not only one of the vocalists in Operatika Element but also the keyboardist. The symphonic metal band formed in 2002 in New Jersey and their music combines melodic, dramatic and powerful metal with female vocals. Producer and drummer Richard Khuzami sees music as a powerful tool that unites communities. Richard is rooted in New York, where he is a longtime member of Community Board 1 of Queens NY. He is a master of various percussion instruments from the Balkans, Anatolia, the Middle East, and North Africa including Darbuka, Riq, Bendir, and Davul.
