"Water"- A Play by Marios Stilianakis & Left to Right Productions

Left to Right Productions has announced the world premiere of Water, written and directed by Marios Stilianakis, at the Lounge Theatre in Hollywood on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 8pm. There will be one preview performance on Thursday, September 9. Water will play a strictly limited engagement through Sunday, October 17

The play is set in modern day Iraq, where two soldiers, an American and an Iraqi, find themselves in adjacent cells in a Baghdad prison. Alone and confused about how they got there, they explore their situation, share their stories, and learn about one another and what led them to this place in their lives. While their co-existence is far from simple, and while they find themselves relying on each other for survival, they begin to realize that they have a lot more in common than what their separate worlds have led them to believe.

Marios Stilianakis is of Greek decent. He has studied at Clark University, City University of London, Harvard University and UCLA, and is a writer of fiction and screenplays. He lives in Los Angeles and New York City and visits Athens often.Greek Matter is his second book. He is also the author of The Undefined Cluster of Happiness, a murder mystery published by Melyxrysos. Both books are offered for sale in the European Union.

Marios has also written and directed three films: Good Morning Aphrodite, Agatha, and Back in 10, all produced by Left to Right Productions. Good Morning Aphroditeand Agatha have screened at the Los Angeles International Shorts Film Festival while Back in 10 has screened at the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival to critical acclaim. Marios has also written a television series entitled, The Students, which aired during the 2006-07 season on CYBC and is currently on repeats.

Many of the stories that inspired WATER are drawn from the writer's experiences during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
